MACKY LIM | Art Director

Macky is a Filipino Senior Art Director. He graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design, Major in Industrial Design from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines.

 

With over 19 years of diverse experience in design and advertising dating back from his extensive work in Manila, Philippines, he is highly creative, remarkably driven and goal-oriented.  He is an expert in layout, art direction, and product design and development. Combining his experience from the Philippines, Cambodia and in Dubai, he has grown beyond just the creative part of the business.  He has developed a profound understanding of the relevance in creating communication campaigns that will develop and build relationships between brands and their consumers.

 

He is currently based in Dubai working for Dubai Parks and Resorts as a creative assistant manager in Marketing. He is responsible for the seasonal campaigns of the park. He looks after MOTIONGATE™ Dubai. He also has a deep understanding of Dubai Parks and Resorts, MOTIONGATE™ Dubai & BOLLYWOOD Park™ Dubai Intellectual Properties creative assets and brand guidelines. Works closely with the creative agency and checks if the creative done is according to the brand guidelines.

Worked with Quill Communications, an arabic agency servicing mostly government agencies such as Federal Electricity & Water Authorithy, Dubai Cables, General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments, Abu Dhabi Finance. He had also worked with Equity Advertising in Tecom that handled global brands like Jackys, Samba, Acer, HTC and LG.  

 

He’s stint in Cambodia propelled him to take on the role of the head of the creative department – guiding his team not only to ensure that the agency always churns out the best work but also to bring out the potential in each of his staff.

 

Despite being a head, he continually hones his core competence as an art-based creative with the ability to implement projects from inception to production & execution of various communication materials including but not limited to digital, events/activation and collaterals . He is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office applications, Windows and Mac operating systems.

In 2001 – 2008, he was part of the Center for International Trade Expositions & Missions, where his responsibilities included conceptualization of effective creative solutions for local and international activities/events/projects of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

 

From 2008 to 2010, he moved to Expresso Design Comm Corp, a design shop that specializes in below-the-line executions of various campaigns of global brands from direct mailers and other marketing materials.

 

In May 2010, before venturing into overseas work in Cambodia, he worked as a Senior Art Director for over 3 years in the world’s largest single-brand agency, Dentsu, handling art requirements for various media – TV, Print and Out-Of-Home.
